Technical Caps and Custom Visors for Sports
Mitchell’s Cap Company is seeing a demand in custom visors and sports caps, which is in-line with the societal change to get fit and healthy. More and more people are participating in fun runs, charity runs, obstacle racing and marathons – all the kids are doing it.
2013 has already seen record numbers for fun run participants. International acclaimed events such as The Color Run, Tough Mudder and Reebok Spartan Race have hit Australian shores this year and are happening in or near most major cities.
These international events are creating a generational shift in demand from the youth market for visors and sports caps. This has opened up an opportunity for brands to generate custom visor designs that are align with current fashion trends for those demographics. Whether the runners are doing it for healthiness, happiness or to give back to the community, they are in need of technical sports caps or visors for training and/or events.
Technical sports caps and visors have come a long was since the days of Cliff Young, you can custom design your visors and caps with moisture wicks, pockets, mesh paneling, reflective piping just to name a few technological advancements.
Running caps, visors and sports caps are now made with moisture wicking fabric known as moisture wicks. The technology of the wicking fabric draws away moisture from the runners skin to the exterior of the fabric; here it can easily evaporate. It is especially needed for runners competing in sporting events held in the colder months to stop the sweat collection on the skin.
Competitors usually have little to no room for keys and money, however with a little ingenious thinking, small pockets can be custom designed into the panels of the sports caps. Designs can also include mesh paneling to help expel heat from the running caps. With comfort taken care of, the next concern is safety; this is where the reflective piping, binding and printing come into play. A combination of two or all three can be put to use in your custom visors or sports caps along with your company branding or logo in reflective print.
Other technical properties of visors and sports caps include lightweight and quick dry. A good quality polyester microfiber fabric keeps your custom design light in weight and allows the caps to dry quicker than other fabrics.
With the technology available, all that is left to do is style!
